Ping.fm, currently in private Beta, is the best new startup we have seen in a long time. It allows users to post updates to all of their social networking sites from a single form. It currently supports Facebook, Twitter, Jaiku, Tumblr and Pownce and will be adding more sites in the future. It has a very simple and easy to use web site and also allows posting directly by email from AIM. We tested it out through the web interface and AIM and our posts showed up very quickly on our twitter, jaiku, pownce, tumblr, and facebook (add me if you like).
There has been little in the news about the private beta. Mashable had a piece today
Put simply, Ping.fm is a status update tool that sends your updates to a handful of your favorite microblogging services. So far, Ping.fm supports Twitter, Facebook, Jaiku, Tumblr and Pownce. The concept is one that will catch on like wildfire in the coming months, and the options for submitting an update come in the form of email, IM, its Google gadget, and a desktop application.
and blogger Nick Star had a piece as well
It is rare to find a good .fm site…well I honestly only knew of one before today, Last.fm (which is great for the whole social music experience). Well I got a beta invite code to a new service called Ping.fm. I had honestly no idea what it was but saw some buzz about it thru the Twitterverse today.
You will be hearing a lot about Ping.fm in the future. It is a simple idea which has very broad appeal.
